John Chiti was suffering with albinism disorder (a rare genetic disorder that affects the production of melanin pigment. That pigment is responsible for the human body’s skin, hair and eyes color) which led to widespread ignorance and misunderstanding among his family and his community. John’s family initially rejected him, everyone was considering this thing as a curse or anomaly.

John Chiti was born on June 5, 1985 in Ndola, Zambia. As an early life, he was rejected by his own father Lawrence Chiti because of his genetic disorder albinism. His mother Elizabeth Muzuni had supported him a lot. His father was considering this thing as a curse or an anomaly. In August, 1995, his mother died. Later, his father was re-married with another woman, and after that, John Chiti continued to live with his father and stepmother.
